Our lovely planet is seriously
ill. A large number of
organisations show us clearly
the catastrophes which we are
busily creating. Most of the
very credible and verifiable
scenario’s confirm that is less
than 50 years we will not
recognise our familiar habitat
and it is plausible that we will
no longer be in control.

Will the beautiful Earth become
the only sick planet in the
Universe?
Some
disturbing symptons:
·
The average temperature of the
planet will rise by a few
degrees. That may not seem much
and most countries will continue
to exist with a sea level
elevated by some
50 cm. However, the real
consequences reach much further;
these few degrees create a
substantial unbalance in the
global climate. This is of
concern to us all. All the
conditions for life will be
affected irrespective the
location or the kind of living
organisms.
·
There will be hardly any fish
left in our seas and oceans.
This is not a food problem. The
oceans are the most important
regenerators of the planet. A
disorder in about three quarters
of the surface of the earth
creates an additional crisis
almost certainly beyond human
control.
·
The depletion of the
conventional sources of energy,
such as oil, natural gas, coal,
etc, has been announced several
times. Oil companies are richer
than ever. When demand is much
higher than supply, prices rise.
However, despite enormous
investments in new exploration
projects, oil and gas reserves
hardly increase. Another crisis
is expected in less than 20
years. One can even observe that
the dependence on oil creates
already today an unbalance in
the world.
·
What
about us?
Recent forecasts indicate that
the human population continues
to increase faster than
expected. Instead of 6,5
billion people today there will
be around 9.2 billion humans on
our planet in 2050.
Obviously, the list is a lot
longer but already four
important almost simultaneous
tragedies should be a sufficient
wake-up call for humanity. It is
very possible that we even loose
control over this rising spiral
of destruction. Unfortunately we
have to observe that today’s
actions do not inspire a great
confidence…
A diagnosis ?
·
Lack of global vision and
coordination.
Most importantly, there is no
coherent global vision
indicating the road to recovery.
Like in all other important
domains of existence there are
no effective structures to
manage global issues and to
coordinate solutions.
·
Economic interests.
Oil Companies, among the first,
make together an annual profit
of several hundreds of billion
dollars. This money is primarily
invested in three areas:
-
Exploration of new oil
and gas reserves, albeit
without the desired
success. In about twenty
years the known reserves
will be almost exhausted
and demand does not
cease to increase!
-
Payment of dividends to
shareholders to
compensate for dwindling
shares.
-
The insufficient number
of available exploration
projects generates a
liquidity surplus, which
most oil companies
re-invest in share buy
backs, which hardly
represents a long term
strategy.
A very small proportion of the
capital of oil companies is
invested in alternative
sustainable sources of energy.
It seems that there is not yet a
long term strategy in this area.

My father rode a camel, I drive
a car,
My son flies a jet plane, his
son will ride a camel again.
In the context of oil and gas,
one should not forget the role
of governments of producing or
consuming countries. These
governments – on both sides –
benefit from the current market
situation to increase their
revenues in the form of excise
duties, withholding or other
taxes.
Electricity companies
(distribution or production)
have only one interest, to
secure their market position
under ruthless competition
conditions. Opening their
networks to small solar or wind
productions is not yet on their
radar screen, unless they are in
this game already.
·
Contradictory noble
intentions.
Experts in climatology, biology,
ecology, geology as well as
sympathisers of a ‘bio’ world
often contradict each other.
Beyond doubt every party has
noble intentions. For example,
the discussion with regard to
tropical rain forests is far
from clear. The biologists
consider correctly that these
forests constitute the most
important ecosystems of our
planet and have to be preserved
at any price. Climatologists,
from their perspective, claim
that these forests during humid
years produce almost as much
carbon dioxide as the total
world industry, and this will
get worse with global warming. A
mature forest does no longer
absorb carbon dioxide and an
active ecological management
preserving the ecosystem is
required. This seems a wise
solution which could satisfy all
stakeholders.
Another example, there are a few
villages which are fully
self-sufficient in terms of
energy produced by natural
products, like rapeseed oil,
bio-gas, etc. While this
signifies a very positive
initiative, and demonstrates
participation of the community
to reduce pollution, it does not
however reduce the emission of
carbon dioxide.
·
Technologie.
One can
distinguish three
principal
movements in
the area of
technology:
1. The first school aspires
predominantly to continue with
today’s technology and
compensates the undesirable
effects with more or less
conventional technology, such as
stocking carbon dioxide in
underground reservoirs, or
converting it to a kind of
limestone, Fitting particle
filters to diesel engines is in
the same category. While this
may well reduce the effects, it
is obvious that these methods do
not represent a long term
solution.
2. A second movement proposes to
change radically our prime
source of energy. Their point of
departure is that the sun is the
only sustainable source of
energy available. Converting
this energy into electricity by
solar panels or indirectly via
wind turbines can satisfy our
energy needs when the sun shines
or the wind blows. Obviously, a
hybrid solution will be required
to cover periods of no or
insufficient production. Solar
technology is well advanced and
economically viable. However,
market share is minimal for
obscure economic reasons.
Equally hydrogen (a non
polluting gas obtained by a
simple separation of water in
oxygen and hydrogen provides a
promising solution for stocking
and transport. The main car
manufacturers developed already
hydrogen prototypes equally
performing as their existing
models. The combustion will
convert the hydrogen back to
water. The perfect cycle.
3. The third school of technology
is almost uniquely focused on
nuclear fusion.
They work ferociously on a
solution. A
first research prototype
is under
development in France.
The first indications are
encouraging, but a full
commercial solution is not
expected until 2050.
·
The
Government.
Almost all governments have
declared their intentions with
regard to the environment, the
ecology, the pollution, global
warming, etc. The realisation of
these intentions is another
matter. Few countries have a
coherent and specific long term
strategy. The intentions are
more often promises rather than
concrete realisations.
Obviously, governments are
stakeholders with enormous
economic interests and therefore
have a tendency to maintain the
status quo.
·
The Humans.
Most
people are lost. There is no
clear strategy, no concrete
plans, nor any incentives or
direct help. Therefore we sort
our household and garden waste,
we use a little less plastic
bags and we accept to pay the
ever increasing energy bill.
Obviously there are people who
assume responsibility.
Unfortunately, they represent a
very small percentage, often
frustrated by lack of
cooperation from the government
or electricity companies.
Nevertheless, thanks to these
idealists we know that the
creation of an autonomous
environment without carbon
dioxide emissions is possible
and can even be quite pleasant.
A not very ecological parable
seems appropriate: When a frog
is placed in a hot frying pan,
it will jump immediately to
safety. When the same frog is in
a cold frying pan which we heat
slowly, it will fall asleep and
die. This phenomenon seems to
threaten mankind.
To conclude these observations,
humanity is confronted with an
inevitable exhaustion of
conventional energy resources in
the not too distant future as
well as uncontrollable climate
perturbations. The fact that
there is no coherent global
vision brings about and
maintains an unacceptable
fragmentation. We are all
directly concerned and this
requires a level of
consciousness both individual as
well as collective in response
to the urgency of the situation.
A
New Consciousness
The state of affairs
call us in an urgent
manner to observe with
courage and lucidity
that we are drifting
inevitably towards the
destruction of Life.
But why don’t we have
the courage and lucidity
to face this auto
destruction? Perhaps,
because most who
influence our world are
still in a situation of
ease and comfort.
Like the ostrich, this
attitude maintains the
ignorance which even
today generates a
general indifference.
The divergence of
economical, political,
geographical, scientific
and cultural interest
creates a fragmentation
of our world which
nourishes incoherence
and is extremely
detrimental for life in
its entirety.
This incoherence is the
source of the important
unbalances that
exacerbate the
unfairness in our world.
The dominance of
economic interests and
the ruthless competition
diverts an alert
consciousness of life
towards an irresponsible
behaviour.
And the sun? Is this not
the unlimited and
sustainable source of
energy? Today, the
technology is available
to utilise this energy
without any detrimental
effect on our planet?
The technology is well
beyond solar panels and
hydrogen cars. Why don’t
we use it? Is this
because this source of
energy is free and
therefore there is
insufficient economic
interest? In addition,
this solution breeds
more fairness since the
sun belongs to us all.

A sun makes no shadow
It shines for all
Well, which are the true
foundations on which we
build our existence on
earth?
Our considerations of
Life, through our most
profound and often
oblivious beliefs, leads
us to believe that Life
is transient and that it
is contained in a
passage on earth before
returning to the
nonexistent. These
beliefs, maintained and
accepted blindly since
thousands of years, lead
us to an insane
egocentric course where
the most important
search is for pleasure
and material matter to
compensate for our
visceral fear of death.
Let’s investigate this a
little. Does the flower,
which reveals without
restraint the radiation
of its entire and
delicate beauty,
questions life or death?
No, a flower does not
know what death is, it
only knows life and it
manifests life in all
its splendour, knowing
that a new flower will
succeed with its own
expression of Life.
We humans are so afraid
of our death and our ego
that we have forgotten
that we are Life that
this life is eternal and
only the belief in death
is mortal.
Our consciousness allows
us to manifest Life, to
perceive, feel, vibrate
and share. But, our
consciousness expresses
also the beliefs that we
introduce and keep close
to our heart. And these
beliefs influence and
condition the nature of
the circumstances of our
human experiences on
earth.
Therefore, today, with
the urgent and unstable
conditions of our planet
and the harassment of
our psyche, it is urgent
and most important to
remember that we are
Life, that life is
eternal, that we cannot
kill or harm life, that
our presence here on
earth is to carry,
incarnate, create and
stimulate Life and not –
by fear of death –
reduce life’s expression
to a single pleasure and
possession of material
matter.
Time has come to give a
new and genuine sense to
Life and to make it
alive. It is our turn to
become genuinely alive,
to incarnate Life in all
its power and its
infinite beauty. The
inspiration will come
from the omniscient
intelligence to open out
its inexhaustible
creativity.
To accomplish this we
are asked to integrate
an unconditional
confidence in Life, to
open our hearts and to
recognise that we are
the source of Life as it
is manifested. We are
equally asked to let go
of idols in order to
feel, love, cherish an
ideal of life based on
respect, preservation,
creativity, balance,
fairness and wisdom
which fertilises life of
the whole.

Death : Definite
cessation of life
(Larousse encyclopedia)
Wisdom and Recovery
A genuine individual and
collective
responsibility will
emerge spontaneously
from this elevated
consciousness. This new
responsibility unites
all the forces of
science and conscience
trough Universal Wisdom
in order to create a
rescuing global vision.
This global vision
imposes and implies:
-
A coherent Global
strategy.
The alliance of the
advances of science
with the wisdom of
the consciousness
will bring about its
accomplishment.
-
A coordinated global
management.
The
synchronisation of
the implementation
of the solutions
requires
unconditional
support for the
global strategy and
an autonomous
commitment of every
one.
-
A shared
responsibility.
The assumption of
consciousness of the
conditions of Life
awakens the
consciousness of
responsibility
acting for all.
Time has also come to
invest in the power of
life and its magnificent
attributes through an
honourable and devoted
creativity. The wisdom
of a global vision will
bring about the
accomplishment of a
coherent global strategy
associated with the
responsible
participation of all to
finally heal this planet
and humanity from its
sufferings and
disturbances.
The global vision is
inspired by life and
intensifies life!
